Purpose
The Terrell / Terral Clearinghouse is established in order to facilitate the sharing of
information between descendants of the Terrell and Terral and allied families. It is a 
voluntary organization, and its members are unpaid.

Organization
A volunteer steering committee will be established by the Founder.  The Founder and the
steering committee are responsible for determining the best method for storage and retrieval of
documents and records donated to or transcribed for the Clearinghouse.

Ownership
The files and documents stored by the Clearinghouse are public-domain.  Copyrighted documents
should not be offered unless accompanied by a statement from the author or their representative
approving such distribution as the Terrell / Terral Clearinghouse may decide.

Initial Plans
Leigh Terrell of New Boston, TX (address below) is the Founder, and
intends:
To store documents on the internet, at the following url:

To keep backups of documents on a personal computer which he owns,
To monthly send a tape of Clearinghouse documents to *Mark Freeman* for a secure backup,
To recruit volunteers to photocopy, scan, and transcribe wills, deeds, and other documents
relevant for genealogical research, and to index same,
To keep a register of volunteers and members current and accessible (upon request of members
only).
To make decisions about the appropriate use of Members’ e-mail addresses, and to forward e-mail
correspondence to the group as a whole (funtioning as a list-server), while protecting the
group from SPAM.

Member Responsibilities
Members are asked to pledge to use the Clearinghouse and its information for personal
genealogical research, not-for-profit, with a specific exception for the publishing of Family
Histories (books or pamphlets) to which the information specifically applies.
Members are asked not to send unsolicited e-mails (other than genealogy questions and answers)
to other members, and will not offer to or engage in commercial business through the
Clearinghouse.
Members are asked not to send a list of e-mail addresses of Members to others without the
consent of the founder.
