First let me say--I'm not here to "sell" you on Jesus, I am not a salesperson, and never would claim to be. Besides, you can't MAKE someone accept Jesus. It is a personal choice. That is how wise our God is! He certainly could have made all of us to be just like robots--mindless masses of tissue who spent their lifetime praising Him. That would be fun! NOT!! Fun for us, maybe, we wouldn't know any different would we? But for God...that would hold very little value or meaning. We wouldn't be worshipping or believeing in Him because we WANTED to, because it was true in our hearts, but because we didn't know any different.
Well, now I don't claim to BE God, or surmise to know what God thinks--but I know from the Bible that God gave us free-will. Perhaps because there is a greater satisfaction for the Lord to know that we come TO Him rather than already being there. Indeed, God gave us free thinking skills, ones that can do great things, create amazing technological, biological, and historical things. Minds that have saved lives, made leaps in communication, therapy, world issues. No doubt about it, our world is FILLED with great minds.
Every day, we are faced with decisions. God made it this way. Every minute of every day we use our free-will to choose what we will do, and even what we will NOT do. We are faced with ethical and moral choices at every turn. Do the choices mean we will or will not go to heaven? Nope. These daily choices are only putty to a scuplter. They make us who we are, but they do not define our eternal salvation.
Now if you have read this far, I applaud you--I never speak in few words, and really should learn how. Please bear with me! In life we are only faced with *A* singular choice that defines where we will spend eternity. Now I know you are rolling your eyes, maybe you are thinking "here comes the religion"...but no...no "religion" here. Just some simple facts. God created us with minds that work under the umbrella of free-will. There was a man, who was foretold by prophecy, who walked upon this earth, and has been historically documented in many valid sources aside from the Holy Bible--this man was Jesus Christ. This man peformed many miracles, changed many lives, and has not stopped changing lives since he was crucified (as he had foretold), and rose from the grave on the third day. The tomb still today sits empty. Guards sworn to protect the grave with their very lives could not stop the Lord from rising again! This man was the son of God.
Now I know you are really wondering what any of this has to do with YOU?!?! It's simple--let me explain! You were created by a loving, wonderful God. He wanted you to be able to live, and think, and make choices. Certainly He hoped that *HE* would be one of those choices. He knew when He gave the kind of freedom to humans He did that it could have it's problems, and it sure has. We make mistakes. He did not create us perfect--so we are prone to fall, make errors, and bad choices. EVERYONE but Jesus Christ is imperfect.
Jesus came here to earth knowing his destiny. He knew he was going to be tortured, and killed in a most brutal and inhumane way. At one point, before the guards came to take him--he cried out to God, to spare him from the pain he was about to endure--but then, knowing this was a moment for ALL mankind--he submitted to the will of His father. He died for YOU. As his eyes closed to die, he was thinking of YOU--and serving as the ultimate sacrifice for YOUR sins. Jesus suffered that you would not have to.
Maybe you are at a place in your life where you feel a little empty inside. Maybe you are searching for that "something" but you just don't know what it is...maybe you feel lost and alone, and like noone understands you. Noone cares. Noone will ever know what you feel like. Maybe you are holding out for that perfect "cure" for your problems. Maybe what you are looking for is Jesus?
A best friend, a confidant, a calm in the sea of life...someone who is always there, will always understand, will always listen, and loves you enough to die for you.
You don't have to wait a moment longer--Jesus is WAITING for you now. If you want to have Jesus in your life, just TALK to Him. The words are not important, He knows your heart, He can read the words upon your heart before your mouth can even utter them. But our Lord is not rude, He simply will NOT rush in where He is not invited. It is up to you to ask Him into your life, and then you will know the greatest fullfillment, joy, and peace that you could ever imagine!
If you want to open your heart to Jesus you might want to say this if the words are not easy to find: "Dear Jesus, I believe in YOU. I believe You are the Son of God, that You died for my sins, and that you
were buried and rose again as it is written in the Bible. I'm sorry for the things I've done that hurt You. I did not know you then. Please
forgive me for all my sins. Come into my heart today, take charge of my life and make me the way You
want me to be. Walk with me when I need a friend, and carry me when I feel I can not go on. Help me when I want to go back to my old lifestyle, cleanse my
heart with Your precious blood, that the things I find pleasure in now are to lift your Holy Name. Write my name in Your Book of Life, that I may spend eternity with You. I proclaim You now as my Lord and
Savior. Fill me with your Holy Spirit. Thank You, Jesus! In Jesus' Name, Amen." If you are not in a place yet where you can say this prayer, or talk to Jesus in your own way--and would like to talk to me about it please don't hesitate to contact me. I don't even have to know your real name, or anything, and it is totally confidential. I love you. I have a deep abiding need to see you saved. Please don't put this decision off. Every other bad choice we make can be forgiven...this one is eternal. God bless you!
