ANN WOOD
Ann Wood married Charles Bailey, soon after she arrived
in California. For a time they had a small store at Seiad
on the Klamath River and in August of 1871 he (Charles)
was appointed postmaster and held the position until it
was taken over by William T. Grider in September, 1885.
Charles also did mining and worked the rich diggings at
the mouth of Seiad Creek. In his later years he took
his family to Hamburg, California on the Klamath River,
where they made their home. Ann passed away in 1894 and
is buried in the Bailey family plot at Hamburg cemetery
with her Husband and four children.
