James Owen Elmer Fehely
Catherine Augusta Wood Fehely
Elmer Fehely (As he was known) spent most of his life in
the mining district of the Klamath River around Happy
Camp and Seiad, California. He married Catherine A.
Wood, the Daughter of
John C. Wood and Ruth Clara
Thorpe, pioneers of the area. Elmer took out a homestead
at Thompson Creek (Near Happy Camp) in the early
1900s. Elmer followed the mining industry most of his
lifetime and also did considerable hunting and trapping.
In 1931, at the age of 66, Elmer died and was buried in
the Fort Goff, California cemetery. He and his wife had
seven children.
