BRIGGS MANSLAUGHTER CASE
Both Caroline (Whaling) Briggs and her son David were convicted
of murder of John Delamater (a teacher) on June 30, 1874. Both
served time in prison; both were pardoned by Governors Grover
and Chadwick in 1877.
