William Wood (Son Of Jared Wood)


William Wood was a miner and spent most of his time on
the Klamath River at Fort Goff, California. He became
engaged to Mary Thorpe, took up a homestead and was
building a house, when his bride to be married another
man! William never ventured near the sea of matrimony
again. He spent some time working with his brothers,
James and John and his brother-in-law, Charles Bailey
in rich diggings (gold and silver) near the mouth of
Seiad Creek. (Klamath River, California) In 1911, he
passed on and was buried in the Fort Goff Cemetery.
