Confirmation 2000 News
Conf 2000 Sponsor Candidate Meeting is January 9, 2000 2 to 4 pm or 7 to 9 pm. Small groups will meet one time per month beginning this month. Groups will be working on their group’s assignment for the final retreat. These important meetings are from 7 to 9 p.m. at your group leaders home. Bainbridge—Jan. 26 Nichols/Rohan-Jan. 5 Immethun—Jan 19 Reeb—Jan. 19 Josten—Jan. 12 Riley—Jan. 19 Logan—Jan. 19 Kathy/Teri—Jan. 5 Tominia/Filipowicz—Jan. 12 Final Retreat Dates Feb. 26 & 27, 2000 Bainbridge, Immethun, Nichols/Rohan & Kathy/Teri’s groups will be together. March 18 & 19, 2000 Josten, Logan, Reeb, Riley & Tominia /Filipowicz groups will be on retreat together. It will begin Saturday morning (9/10ish) and end about 1 p.m. on Sunday. PLAN NOW FOR THIS REQUIRED RETREAT!

Service Hours Candidates have been asked to have 15 to 20 hours of service done by the end of the year. There are lots of opportunities for service coming up. Check the web page and the enclosed calendar for the most updated service opportunity list.



Teens were responsible for lots of good deeds during the holiday season….. Thanks to those who helped deliver the giving tree gifts to Lee’s Summit Social Services and area nursing homes. Wow, that was a lot of gifts for others! Thanks to Lisa Kettlewell and Nina Scalise for painting the banners used for the auditorium Christmas masses. What talent! Thanks as well to the multitude of teens who helped decorate the church & auditorium for Christmas! You did GREAT!!!!


Conf 2001—NEW GROUP


This new group is the largest yet with 98 teens in 10 small groups!! Group Assignments were mailed this week and all groups will meet for the 1st time the week of Jan. 17th. Be sure to check your letter closely because groups this year are meeting on three different nights!!! The 1st retreat is a day long one which will be held in the auditorium at Presentation on Sunday, Feb. 6th. Groups will attend the 8 a.m. mass at either Presentation or St. Margaret’s for blessing and send off!!! Mark your calendar!



Getting Started
Lots of teens are already in the service mode. Conf 2001 teens can count service hours you are doing NOW can be counted. Just jot down the activity or service opportunity, the date completed and the hours volunteered. Then hold on to it and we will give you the form to transfer it to when your group starts meeting after the first of the year!!!!
