"It is the will of God and nature that these mortal bodies be
laid aside when the soul is to enter into real life.
This is rather an embryo state - a preparation for living.
A man is not completely born until he is dead."
Benjamin Franklin
"Death is not extinguishing the light; it is putting out the
lamp because the dawn has come.

Though those we love are no longer with us they are always
within our hearts and memories.
This page is in honor of those in our family who have gone
ahead of us, into the next stage
of our eternal existence.
Cecil Rowe:
My memories of him include a time when I was 16 years old and
we went to visit
our family in Ohio.
I had just got a hair cut and when we arrived to
Greensprings he decided I needed a hair cut.
He took my younger brother Steve and I to the barber in town even
after I protested that I just had a
hair cut, he said I was not to leave the shop until hair was cut. I
convince the barber to cut
Steve's hair and not mine. Grandpa got a laugh out of that.
Welby Sampsel:
Granddad and Grandma always came out to visit us in
California. I remember when they came out
when I graduated from high school
in 1976. Our class had planned a graduation block party and when
I asked when I needed to be home grandma said 6:00 pm?
Granddad replied AM. of course I took his
hours and got home at 5:00am.
Mabel Sampsel:
I always remember grandma's house the smell of fresh baked
cookies, she also made beautiful
afghans for all of us. She seemed to enjoy being creative not
only with cooking, and knitting
but also painting, she had many artistic talents.
Terri Gilbert:
My cousin I really did not know her as well as I would have liked, as we lived in California and everyone else lived in Ohio or Florida. What I do remember about her she always had fun when she would visit us. I know that I teased her and her sisters a bit. She always seemed to be smiling when ever I saw her.
Lela Rowe:
G.G. was something when you think of an little old country lady she was it. When we visit her she always made sure we had plenty to eat. I could still remember the small lunch she made for everyone. If I remember correctly there was a ham, a roast, chicken, and for veggies we'd have corn, beans, peas, mash potatoes most from her own garden. She once took me to her school and introduced me to her students I only seem to remember the girls?
Steven Rowe:
My younger brother, what can I say about him? Steve was the Rowe family version of Dennis the Menace growing up. He always seemed to do things meaning well, with some interesting results, like the time he decided to make a cake for mom, as he was making the cake he baked the frosting. Another time that we all remember was the time that we had this old couch that was going to get tossed, so instead of taking it to the dump he thought it would be better to just burn it in the fireplace. Everything was going fine until the police showed up, they where a bit concerned about all the smoke coming out of the chimney since it was August. >
Carol Rowe:
My mother, what can I say about mom? The one thing I would like to say is she use to make fun of me as I entered my teenage years. During the 70's dad worked out of state so mom had to take care of 4 kids. 2 where fairly well behaved, and the other 2 where handfuls. Even though she worked she always made time to come to at least one of my water polo games during the week
Death is apart of life and as we grieve over those who have gone before us
we can also rejoice in the fact that we have a heavenly father who loves each
and every one of us. He has allowed us this short time on earth to spend with
those we have come to love. To learn many things from each and every
one of them
to develop our own personalities. We are who we are by those who have effected
our
lives, for good and bad. We have a chance here in the mortal to honor those
who have touched our
lives both living and those who have gone. By living our
lives in honor to them we bring them honor.
As long as we continue to do this
they continue to be with us.
