MISSION STATEMENT

The mission of Sons of Norway is to promote, preserve, and cherish a lasting appreciation of the heritage and culture of Norway and other nordic countries while growing soundly as a fraternal benefit Society.

HISTORY OF LODGE
Sun Viking Lodge, organized 1987, under the sponsorship of Suncoast Lodge 562.
In Spring Hill, we sspport an annual Scholarship fund for our Local High School. Our members volunteer in programs such as Hospice and as aides in hospitals, and in tax preparation for the elderly in Hernando County.

The lodge has sponsered an annual bowling tournament followed by a Dinner/Dance Banquet open to all Sons of Norway members and their friends, held each November and affectionately called "Florida Takke Fest", with the net proceeds going to a charity in the area: such as The Dawn Center, Migrant Workers, Hospice.

Sun Viking lodge is proud that it has a number of programs to promote the culture and heritage of Norway within the lodge and neighborhood. We are involved in the "Adopt a School Program" where members assist teachers as tutors. Our lodge has created a "Barnes Norsk Club" where children learn Norwegian culture through stories, music, cooking, sewing and other crafts.
