Originally owned by: Spitzer Revival styles were not pure reproductions, but rather free interpretations with details inspired by the originals. Colonial homes, originally influenced by Greek structures, were more symmetrical, more classical than Dutch Colonial Revival style. The Spitzer house is a two-story structure with a low-pitched side gabled roof, and wide bands of trim beneath the cornice, gable and porch. The one-story entry porch is graced by prominent columns. The front door has sidelights and fanlights. Accent windows on the gables mimic the fanlight design. This home style is simple, formal and stately at the same time. Several additions have been made to this house. There is a carriage house in the rear. |
