National LIFE CHAIN Sunday, the first Sunday of October, will be observed October 7, 2001 along the median of Tunnel Boulevard in Houma from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM. Participants will stand quietly and prayerfully holding signs with the same message, "Abortion Kills Children "
The LIFE CHAIN is a visual statement of solidarity by the local community that abortion is grievously wrong. It assumes that victory against abortion is to be won in the hearts of Christians. Therefore, it turns to the Church Christ ordained, and asks us to put action to our belief. God commanded us to stand up for those who cannot speak for themselves. The LIFE CHAIN invites all of God's children to unite and stand together against abortion with hundreds of pro-life people.
LIFE CHAIN participants from St. Bernadette will stand on the median between Southdown Nursing Home and South Louisiana Bank. We have permission to park and assemble in the parking area at Savoie's Restaurant, which is across Tunnel Boulevard from South Louisiana Bank. Please begin arriving by 1:45 PM, pick up signs and join us in prayer before crossing over to the median.
