The First Farlow to ireland was CPT John Farlow who came from Farlow Township and Parrish, Shropshire England, with Cromwell's army in 1649.
There is also a story of a second CPT Farlow, fighting on the side of the Irish, who died 1691 in action at the siege of Limrick. < on record for deeds of bravery at this seige> he is possibly the son of the first CPT Farlow.

It has been speculated that the Farlows originated in Normandy France and came over to England with William the Conqueror, under the name de Farlaise.
The first known FARLOW of our branch was John Farlow, first seen in Deleware- South Eastern Pennsylvania in the early 1700,s
There are two proposals to his origin:
The first is that he came from Ireland, there is supposedly a family bible that belonged to an Archie Farlow in NC that shows some of his children born in Ireland.
The second is that he was a secendant of Thomas Farley < sometimes spelled Farlow> of Virginia. Who came over on the Ship Anne , from England in the middle 1600's.
Neither story has yet been verified.
