Dear Agnes & Ernest
Just a line & I hope that it will find you both well, & that both Ernest & aunt Nora have both got out of hospital again. She is getting rather a gad? age to have to face internal operations but I suppose there are times when doctors have to take the risk. 89 years is a good age. I myself will be 88 years in April. I have had a double Hernia since Auntie Eunice had her stroke twenty years ago & I had to do so much lifting her about & changing the bed clothes about every two hours during the night. I have been in the hospital twice since for different things but they just keep me on wearing a leather Hernia belt - it has six different buckles & straps which I have to tighten up before getting out of bed & must not do any heavy lifting. Well we have had a great deal of rain this winter with cold winds But glad to say that this week has been much better the sun has been out for a few hours & I have been able to take a walk down the street. I am sure you will be kept very busy looking after the ca
ttle Ect when Ernest & Auntie Nora are both needing attention My own hearing & eyesight are failing a lot. Love to All. Uncle Jack

Dear Agnes & Ernest
Just a line in answer to yours along with Birthday Card & letter received many thanks, I was pleased to hear that Ernest was out of hospital & I hope that he is still continuing to improve. Like me I expect he will be glad to see the sunshine. We are getting some nice days in between now Yesterday it was raining in the morning & again today it has been raining up to now. Two o'clock in the afternoon. Your seasons seem to be timed like ours, You said that the Daffodills Flowers were about finished, well so are ours along with the Tulips & this week all the Blossom Trees have come into flower. I expect in a week or so we will have the apple & pear Trees coming out. We do a lot of grumbling about the weather & rain but it is all sent for a good purpose. You ask if I have any children. Well no, we only had one boy. Eunice had two operations for floating kidney the boy being born after the first operation just four weeks old when I had to go into the army 1914-1918 War. It did not prove a great
success as she was more or less always in pain. However when I came back home she had to go into hospital again & it was done again along with the appendix being removed. It proved more of a success that time & she got rid of most of her aches & Pain. Our boy was 14 years old when he went to camp with the Boy Scouts the picture of Health, he came back with a slight limp. I thought that he had been playing football & had a punch on the leg but he said know, so I told his mother to take him along for the doctor to see. He was not at all satisfied with it at the end of the week & arranged for me to take him down to see a specialist doctor in Liverpool belonging to one of the big hospitals. He gave him a good examination & then asked for him to stay in hospital as it was very serious the trouble being in the head & pressing on the optic nerve & unless relieved he would go blind. They made a hole in his head but dare not do anything more as it was a Tumor on the Brain. It was like cutting him in two. His
right side dead his left quite alright. We buried him day after Xmas. Love Uncle Jack.
You asked what I worked at I was a Tiler, Slater? & Plasterer. Property Repairer
