Edmond Keidel and his wife Virginia, the "Free Spirit Keidels," sent me another
card: SPECIAL FRIENDS!
This one came from Rothenburg
on the Tauber River. This is arguably the most picturesque small town in Germany. Last
year, the boys and I visited Rotenburg on the Fulda River, a town quite similar in style and
name.
This picture was sent by George Lewis Keidel. It was taken by his wife as we departed La Vale, Maryland for Fort Jackson, South Carolina on this summer's road trip.
Paul Schultze A1112-313.1(B) e-mailed this picture of himself. He lives in Johnson City, New York, where his sister (my first wife) and the rest of the Schultze clan along with my daughter Heidi and her family
also live. I have stayed on extremely good terms with my ex-in-laws and we have good visits whenever the boys and I venture into upstate New York. Paul is on-line and serves as the mediator between me and the other Schultze/Keidel/Melzer family members in the Binghamton area who don't have web access yet.
Paul fondly remembers a week-long trip he took with me on my little cruising sloop "Nibelung" when he was only 14. It was the summer of 1974, or was it 1975? Help me out, Paul! We took off from my yacht club, below the George Washington Bridge, and cruised under auxiliary power to the Tappan Zee. This is the widest expanse of the Hudson River. We spent a day or so anchored and then continued our trip North, albeit under full sail! We passed historic West Point and wound up as guests of the New Hamburg Yacht Club, after spending several nights at other anchorages along the shore. It was a wonderful adventure, which even had us involved in some heavy weather at one point!
This
is Kip Keidel and his new bride Christine. They just got married and we congratulate. I do not have them branched yet, so until they provide me with some family data, I have no idea to which family branch they belong.
J-NUMBERS
CHANGE
Due to collaboration with Mary Keidel of the J-Branch, some of the numbers are changing. Earlier ancestors were revealed to me, changing some of the birth
order. It turns out that Joseph Keidel J1131 had an older sister Maggie, so his number is now J1132. This changes the first four digits of all his numerous offspring! Mary and I are
working on identifying some more early J ancestors, so these numbers will likely change again, soon.
Allow me to wish a to my first cousin Gerd Huber and also to Joy (Keidel) Levan.
to Barry and Kim Keidel (10th), John and Donna Martin (11th), Jim and Suzanne Hay (28th) and Bob and Kathryn Keidel (55th!).
Bob also married Kathryn on her birthday, so, to her as well!
