Farmer Grumpy?

Well, that’s what it seems like I’ve become! Though we only have a couple of acres, since this is our first season - we have to start from scratch! I am converting the former pasture into an orchard. That means putting in fruit trees! But you also have to mow the pasture, er- orchard!

My new tractor conked out on me last month, so I was kept awake by THOUSANDS of mocking, jeering, dandelions who knew I couldn’t mow them! They kept laughing and giggling: "Blow me! Blow me!" Well, you know dandelions!

That’s OK! I made those dandelion scream in fear and pain!

No, just erstwhile dandelion!

Willy’s rosebush project is going well.

But we’ve also been planting a lot of firs and pines. We-re sprucing up our fir perimeter with a lot of seedlings acquired locally.

Willy has adapted well!

He is doing fine in our bucolic surroundings and finds himself quite busy with farm life. Oh well then - orchard life!

He rakes up all those slain dandelion and also hangs the wash. The first one, by the way, since we elected to procure our own washing machine instead of throwing all those quarters away at the Laundromat!

Yeah, we keep busy! There’s always LOTS to do around here! One wouldn’t think so, this being a sparsely populated area. I transferred my American Legion membership to Sidney, NY. Sure enough, they elected me to something during my first elections here!

Ha-Yo and Armin are still toughing it out in Massachusetts, where Armin plans a busy summer with his Upward Bound college prep involvement. Willy made the local paper for being on the Honor Roll! I’m keeping very busy trying to get all my plantin’ done before Summer! There, I’m even starting to sound like a local! Meanwhile, I’m still trying to generate a supplemental income on the Internet.
