THE KEIDEL UPDATE 998

Published by Ernst R. Keidel A1112-313

Hello dear readers, dear family members!

It has been many years since I published THE KEIDEL UPDATE in hard copy, an endeavor which nearly broke me. Now, that so many of you are on-line, it is only reasonable that I recommence the publishing of this journal on the web. No doubt, I am also reaching a good many of you who are new to TKU. So if you have questions about the all-important numbering system (the K-numbers), please let me know. I'll send you a detailed explanation.

To somewhat bring you up to date:
My son Armin Keidel A1112-3132 will become 15 next month and is starting high school.
Son Willy A1112-3133 became 12 in the middle of this month and is now in sixth grade.
Daughter Heidi (Keidel) Melzer A1112-3131 lives upstate New York with her husband Walter and their children Erik and Rachel, my grand-children!

My sons and I had a chance to visit Germany, last year, and met many family members from 3 separate branches.

Earlier this year, I finally completed my Associate of Science Degree from Fisher College.

I am awarded an Associate of Science Degree at Fisher College

This summer we spent some time with George Lewis Keidel F1113-277 in LaVale, Maryland and attended the family re-union of the F1113 group in Wellersburg, Pennsyslvania. I took the prize for "longest distance traveled" again, as well as the one for "most facial hair" this year! We saw many familiar faces and are thankful for George's incredible hospitality, which seems to be a Keidel trait we've encountered often in our many travels.

We later drove South and visited Fort Jackson, South Carolina and Fort Bragg, North Carolina. We made it back just before Hurricane Bonnie made life miserable down there.

Just heard that Lisa Keidel-Odom D1321 had another child (this makes 5) and moved from Kansas to Alaska!

Mark T. Keidel reports that his father Ralph Aloysius Keidel N12 passed away on 6 September at age 74. We voice our condolences.
