Armin was born on 7 October 1983 at the 121st Army Evac Hospital in Seoul, Korea. This is his first official picture, the one for his German passport. With that, he left Korea with his mother and me to live in Boston, Massachusetts, when I started my assignment to the Military Science Department at M.I.T. Armin only did this once!

Here, Armin (on his first birthday) is dressed in the traditional Korean costume reserved for the first born son of a family. Later, he discovered that dressing like his dad was fun too. He grew into a very nice young man who followed in his dad's footsteps; he took up Tae Kwon Do.

This shows Armin when he started at age six as a 10th Grade White Belt. He got into this martial art with a lot of spirit and was quite good. Two years later his brother joined him at age five. Together they entered a good number of tournaments and stand proudly behind some of their trophies in 1993. Armin was a 2nd Grade Red Belt and his brother Willy a 7th Grade Yellow!

I suppose every boy at one time or another gets inspired by Yul Brynner or Kojak and thinks it is cool to have a shaved head! Little do they realize that it looks really ugly and gray the first day, and the second day there are STUBBLES! To keep it clean and shiny like the stars, it requires daily shaving!
