These pages are of my family album and there will be pictures of the Hamill, Morgan, Faust, and Wint families on it. I will also cover my family (Willard and Wolfe) as my children were growing up and their children (Carpenter, Willard and Bradley) as they are today. Altogether, there will be five generations of my relatives appearing on these pages; hopefully, in the order of their ascendancy.
Sorry I am to say that there are no pictures of the generation of Hamills who ventured forth to come to our lands. It would be wild to see a pix of the pirate to know that he truly existed. But, I am sure in their plight with the Famine, pictures must have ranked among the least of their concerns. Can't seem to find any pictures of Barny or his wife, either. They will just have to remain a mystery unless something absolutely marvelous happens and I find a group of Hamills in Ireland who might have a picture or two of my Great Grandfather. You see, Aunt Bell had most of the old pictures, but there was a fire which consumed her "wee" house while she was visiting with me and my kids in Johnstown, PA. The pictures are mostly gone. I am researching thru the Irish Heritage Society at the moment and maybe God will help me with this challenge.
I have very few pictures of the first generation of our branch of the Hamill clan to be born here. What I do have is below; I am looking for some more and will be contacting cousins to try to dig up other ones. There are two separate wall photographs at my son's house, but they are too big to scan and put on this page. As far as I know, there is only one other elder to be called "first generation", born in this country.
UPDATE! Have found some pictures of Aunt Jane and Aunt Edna also. They are Grandma's sisters. I think there is even one of her amongst the trove. Will scan and put them up asap.
This is the picture of my grandparents on my father's side of the family. They had 13 children all together. My father, James, being the next to the youngest son. Grandpa's father came to this country from Ireland and my Grandmother's people came from England.
The above pictures are of my Great Aunt Jane. Picture 1 is of Aunt Jane and Dawn. Picture 2 is of Aunt Jane and her young charge when they were on a boat one time. She was Grandmother's sister and married a man named John Shawley. They lived in Jenners and after his death, she continued to live in the mining town. She was a very nice woman, always kind hearted and very good with her own children. Her children's names were: Arthur, Bob, and Della.
