Our dogs like to do this.
These two Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers came to our home at Christmas 1993. We got them though the Maraine's, dog breeders in Ontario, Canada.
We had to write a reference letter to the breeders plus send a picture of ourselves. We had lots of fun naming them. Their full names are Bosworth Orieon Secord Shamus and Athena Kelly Aurora Glory Pagent. You can find more about Soft Coated Wheaten Terriers at This spot and Here
They have found the local skunks in our area (there are thousands if not millions of skunks around here, well maybe not quite that many but close). Peeeyooooouuuu.
What a smell that was when they met Pepee Lepeu outside our back door. Well tomatoe sauce and chunky tomatoes did not help much. We were fortunate to have well prepared neighbours who loaned us some Skunkoff or something like that. A bath and weeks later they still had a noticable smell.
And to top it all off during one of our walks Bosworth found the remains of a dead skunk and yes you guessed it, he rolled in it.....yechhhhhh...another bath and lots of deskunking stuff and finally a few weeks later he is better than he was.
Well one weekend Bosworth finally met a porcupine. Luckily the porcy left just a few quills but all the same Bosworth was not impressed at all. Athena ignored the whole event as good lady dogs will. Ha.
This is a picture of the dogs and me. Athena is on the couch with me (she is a real couch potatoe) and Bosworth is on the floor.
We were sad all through the summer of 2004 as our two beautiful friends Bosworth and Athena died. We could not believe it and have missed them so much. We really do love them and believe that we had to continue to have dogs in our lives. We have a new puppy in our home now "Winston Canis Major Gordon" who arrived on the 25 Feb 05. I will be adding pictures of him soon.
