Pepper, tricolor saluki, never shown, occasionally coursed but she was too
possessive of the lure. No real claim to anything but my heart.
Tumor, presumably cancer, involving several loops of the
bowel. Also had fluid on the lungs which could have been caused by the lack
of protein from the diarrhea she had for the last two months. Dr. said she
probably wasn't in pain, but she soon would be. (However, she said we
needed to feed her small meals more often, and eating seems to cause pain,
so the pain factor would be increasing.) Dr. also said that she had about a
month at the most, and that was only if we drained the fluid off of the
lungs and gave her a transfusion. Otherwise, only a week. She advised that
we not let Pepper die of this as it would be quite painful, so we didn't.
Wish I could do something about my pain, though. By now, most of my heart
must be at the Rainbow Bridge.
