How to make seaching the SJHS AA website easier:

1. Most importantly!
If you choose Option 1, please leave the second entry slot as-is. Otherwise, the seach broadens from just the SJHS AA website to the entire geocities domain. Talk about trying to find a needle in a hay stack! Geocities has millions, that's right, millions, of pages on its servers.

2. As provided by Geocities, the host of the search engine:
  • Use more than one search term. When you search for a single word, you get all the documents with that word in it. By adding a second or third word to your search, you are more likely to get the pages you are looking for. A search for cars will probably give you millions of pages, whereas a search for Toyota cars will yield fewer results and, hopefully, more of the pages you are looking for.

  • Be as specific as possible. Try to be discriminating in your choice of words for your search. The more specific you are, the more likely you are to find what you want.

  • Use an exact phrase. If you put the text you want to search for in double quotes, the engine will look for the exact phrase you specified. For example, if you search for Florida Marlins, you might get pages on fish, but a search for "Florida Marlins" will give you pages on the baseball team.

  • Use a minus sign to limit results. Putting a minus sign before an additional word in your query will allow you to keep certain types of pages out of your results. For example, a search on newt will bring up pages not only on the creature, but also on Newt Gingrich. But by simply searching on newt -Gingrich, you will remove Newt Gingrich from your search results.

  • We hope these search tips help. Have fun! (Press 'Back' on your browser to continue your search.)
