These rare phographs are of my Great Great Grandparents, James Meek and his wife Margaret, as well as their son James and daughter-in-law Sarah.
James and Margaret are the original immigrants to arrive in Canada, homesteading first in Greene County, Ohio, where they had several of their children. Later moved to Canada where they finally settled in Mono Township in Dufferin County, Ontario.

James Meek married Sarah Henry, January 7, 1858 and carried on the original homestead after his father's death in 1876.

Many thanks to Lieutenant Colonel John F. Meek, Ret'd who holds the copyrights to the above photographs.

Many thanks to Ian Wilson of Vancouver, a distant cousin, who sent me copies of the next four pictues!

Robert Meek, my Great Grandfather. Robert was born in Ireland and is the son of James.

Margaret Harrison is my Great Grandmother and is the wife of Robert Meek.

Rachele Meek, daughter of Robert and Margaret Meek and sister to my Grandfather, William Herbert Meek. Her husband Edward Norcliffe Baker

The photo on the left is William H. Meek, my grandfather. The middle photo is Dr. Edward Meek, his brother, posing here with my father, Benjamin Meek who later became a doctor as well. The last photo is my grandmother, Jessie (Lewis) Meek, with my father. William and Edward, are sons of Robert Meek, and grandsons of James and Margaret Meek, shown above

These two photographs are of Robert Meek's sons. The left photo has my grandfather, William, sitting with a hat in front. The others are James, Robert and Edward, but not in that order. Can anyone help?

This photograph is of the James Meek Family. James was the younger brother of Robert and might have been born in Rich Hill, Ireland.

In the back row from the left is William, Margaret, Harry, Sam and Agnes

In the Center Row is Eliza Jane, James, Augusta, Edith and Sarah

Front row is Norman and John.

Many thanks to Eileen Burch for supplying this photograph

These two photographs are of the original homestead of Jame and Sarah Meek. The fist photo shows Augusta Meek in the white dress, daughter of James and his wife Sarah who probably are the couple in front of the house. Taken in the late 1890's. This house was built near the homestead of immigrant James Meek which was situated farther back in the farm near the Credit River Source.

Again, many thanks to Eileen Burch for supplying these photographs

This photograph is of my late father, Dr. Benjamin Meek. He is the son of William Herbert Meek and Jesse Lewis

This is Mitchell Church (Yellowbriar) in Mono Township, near Orangeville, Ontario where James and his wife, along with many of his descendants are buried.

This photograph is Sheila (Meek) Hardy, my daughter, standing beside the grave stone monument of her 3rd great-grandfather, James Meek and his wife Margaret Smith. Also buried there are Jame's son James and his wife Sarah Henry. See Plaque to be mounted there (below)

This is a photograph of a plaque that is to be mounted on the monument shown above. Many thanks to John J. Meek for both his work with the plaque, and this photograph.

This is a mystery member of my family. Can anyone help?
