Joel Lewis in the later 1800's.

Joel was the son of Barnabas Lewis, early pionneer to Elgin County of Ontario.

Residence of Joel Lewis.

The farm was located in the township of Yarmouth, Elgin County. Situated there was a machine shop and a mill along with a grand home.Many of Joel's descendants lived here over the years including my grandmother, Jessie (Lewis). She was the grandchild of Joel's brother, Chauncey.

Zurial Lewis and his descendents.

Most lived at Harbour Creek, PA or Erie, PA. Some of them were Civil War Soldiers. His brother, Barnabas Lewis was my great-great-great grandfather. He immigrated to Elgin County in Ontario 1828 from Whitehaall, N.Y.

This picture has been identified as the Amasa Lewis house, Port Bruce, circa 1900.

Amasa Lewis, son of Barnabas Lewis was b. 1811, Whitehall, N.Y., d. March 31, 1897, Elgin County, Ontario.

The photographs are not from my branch of the Lewis family. Benjamin and Surviah Lewis's grave site in Pease Cemetery, near Pompey, N.Y. They were from a branch of the Lewis Family that left the New England States and Settled in New York.
