In order to join the Hooks mailing list:

Send a message to:   Hooks-L-Request@rootsweb.com

Leave the subject line blank.

In the message area put only one word     subscribe

Send the message. That's it.

Once you are subscribed and you want to send a message to the list, send it to the same address, without the word "Request" (That is used only when subscribing or unsubscribing).

You can also subscribe to the "Digest Mode".
This will send all the messages to you once or twice a day. On the List Mode you will receive the messages as they are sent.

In order to subscribe to the Digest Mode, follow the steps above changing the "L" to a "D".

This mailing list was began by Gerry Hill after the National Hooks Reunion which was held in Hooks, Texas.At this time E-mail addresses were requested from the Association members.
There were six people on the list.

As of June 2001, there were 104 people on the list.

This means that with one E-mail you can now contact 104 other Hooks researchers.
