At the second National Hooks Reunion at Goldsboro, N.C., Joe Hooks announced that he was going to make a compilation of all of the Hooks data that he could find. He asked that everyone help him, by sending him all the Hooks data that they had.
That project took him a couple of years. At one of the National Reunions, he presented a copy of his work to the next coordinator. This data was passed on each year, until Ruth Stultz suggested that we place the data at a library. Several libraries were contacted, but none were willing to take the data, until the Hooks (Texas) Public Library was contacted. They were willing.
In 1996, the Hooks data that Joe Hooks had collected, was delivered to the Hooks Public Library.
At the 1997 reunion, which was at Hooks, Texas, other material was delivered to the library.
Since that time, the records of Thomas Hooks have been delivered to the library.
The Hooks Association has supported the library with monetary donations since 1996. The Association is presently paying for a subscription to the Hooks Herald for the library.
Respectfully submitted,
Clyde Hooks
