Spin Man

So, you have never spun a jet ski? Just learning to ride? Well, this may very well be the easiest trick to do on a sit down. So easy, that anyone who invests a little time can do it! And so can you! Just follow these simple steps:

STEP 1: You want to start this trick while on plane. For most jet skis, this is anywhere from 25 to 35 mph (Don't try this faster than 40! It can be painful when you launch yourself off the back!) For those of you without speedometers, this is about 1/2 to 1/3 throttle.

STEP 2: Choose your area wisely! This means check surrounding traffic and water conditions. It is harder to do this in choppy water vs. smooth, and you definitely don't want to run into anyone! Above all, be careful!

STEP 3: Prepare yourself mentally. Like any trick, you have to keep your wits about you, and your resolve up. There is no turning back once you've begun! Although the dangers of this trick are very small, remember that you will be going from 25-30mph to dead zero in a matter of seconds.

STEP 4: Lean forward, applying weight to the handle bars. This will move your skis center of gravity forward to the hull, instead of the pump, giving you less rear end traction. If you have a quick trim system, it is easier to spin a ski with the trim in the down position.

STEP 5: Coast clear? Trim down? Weighting down the front? Now crank the handle bars, either side, and floor it! It is important that you obtain full lock and full throttle simultaneously.

STEP 6: HOLD ON! The faster you are going, the more you will spin. (i.e. 25mph might only get you 180 degrees, but 35 will definitely spin you all the way around) Lean towards the inside of your spin if you feel the urge to lean at all. As the spin completes, you will notice that the ski will lean to the right if you spun to the left, and vice versa. Simply throttle out any residual lean. If you don't, you may be re-boarding afterwards.

Well, that's about it. Go out and try it now! Its a lot of fun.

If you have any tricks to add, I will add them to this site. Just e-mail me a picture and a description!
