Our Savior passed me by this day,
Because I didn't care,
To help a neighbor in distress,
For Him my love just wasn't there.

Our Savior passed me by this day,
Because I didn't heed,
The hand outstretched for a little help,
For theirs I did not need.

Our Savior passed me by this day,
Because I wouldn't bend,
To lift a burden from the back,
Of my neighbor but not my friend.

Our Savior passed me by this day,
To help my neighbor in distress,
He grasped his hand for the needed help,
With a loving sweet caress.

Our Savior did not pass me by this day,
But asked me for my soul,
That was given to me so freely,
And my name almost vanished from the roll.

Our Savior did not pass me by this day,
And I asked Him for His blessing,
To show me how to love my neighbor,
All my selfishness to Him I am confessing.

Our Lord and Savior doth pass this day,
His love and friendship I am possessing,
Now that I've accepted His friendship,
In His bosom my soul now is resting.
