1999 SCGS Summer Workshop

Date- Saturday, July 10, 1999
Place- SC Archives and History Center, 8301 Parkland Road, Columbia, SC

Main Speaker- Lloyd Dewitt Bockstruck. Currently serves as supervisor of the Genealogy Section of the Dallas (TX) Public Library. He has been on the faculty of the Institute of Genealogy and Historical Research at Samford University in Birmingham, AL since 1974 and is the first recipient of the Institute's Outstanding Alumnus Award. He is the author of VIRGINIA'S COLONIAL SOLDIERS, GENEALOGICAL RESEARCH IN TEXAS, and REVOLUTIONARY WAR BOUNTY LAND GRANTS AWARDED BY STATE GOVERNMENTS. He received the Award of Merit from the National Genealogical Society in 1982 and was named a Fellow of the society in 1993. He is active in numerous lineage societies and is featured in WHO'S WHO IN AMERICA. His column, "Family Tree," appears weekly in the DALLAS MORNING NEWS.
