The most difficult page on this entire Site to write is the one about myself. Here I will attempt to show what my interests (past and present) are, as well as to express my personality.
I grew up in Narrows, Giles County, Virginia and graduated from Narrows High School in 1962. I am the fourth son and sixth of seven children of Willie J. "Bill" and Ruby P. Lawson, have lived in Radford, Virginia since 1964 and am married to the former Barbara K. Rushbrooke from Pearisburg, VA. Barbara and I are the parents of three adult children and have three grandchildren. See the Family Pages on this Site for each of the family members.
My career choice is the Life and Health Insurance Business which I have pursued since April 1964. I am the Owner and Broker at Lawson Insurance Agency in Radford. I worked as a Representative and District Manager for Blue Cross / Blue Shield of Southwest Virginia during the period 1969 through 1979.
My lifelong interests have been the Outdoors, Sports, and Music. Although never considered an accomplished Hunter, Fisherman, Sportsman or Vocalist, these, along with my Family, have provided many hours of enjoyment and satisfaction to me. Currently, I sing with the First Baptist Church Choir and the New River Valley Community Chorus. See their pages on the Music Pages of this Site.
Another passion of mine, among many, is Golf. I play regularly at the Draper Valley Golf Club in Draper, VA. See Links Page as well as the Golf Pages on this Site.
