On the night you were born
The moon looked down
Like diamonds on a blanket of deep velvet blue.
The stars were singing an ode to joy
And the snow crunched like clanging bells.
On the night you were born
The hands of angels
Lifted you apart from me
And you cried, "Welcome me world! I am HERE!"
And tears of thanks rolled down our cheeks
As God Himself delivered you safely to our waiting arms.

Things were really hopping that night at the Washington Hospital Center. Mommy and Daddy had waited nearly two days for me to come. (Mommy says, "It was 37 1/2 hours; but who's counting?") Grandma, Grandpa, Nonno and Nonna waited in the waiting room with Dr. Welner; and they waited, and they waited, and they WAITED. Finally, I arrived! Quietly and quickly, then after a moment, I cried! Then Mommy and Daddy cried, too, when they heard the sound of my voice.
Daddy was the first to hold me when I was just a few minutes old. Mommy's a little too busy to be in this picture, but she was there, too. Mommy says I looked like a caterpillar all wrapped up with my hat on!
This is Dr. Sandy Welner. Mommy says that Dr. Welner helped her bring me here. Dr. Welner helps a lot of mommies in wheelchairs, and she helped my Mommy get ready to have me! Thanks, Dr. Welner! I sure am glad to be here, and sure am glad you were there to help my Mommy.
