National Safety Rules and Procedures for Shooting
Muzzleloading Artillery
These rules were compiled by "The Artilleryman" magazine and reflect a consensus
of safety procedures developed from historical records and practical experience of many
present shooting organizations. They were written and edited by Matthew C. Switlik, author
of The Complete Cannoneer; George McDonald III, Clark's Battery, N-SSA; Bernard
Kurdt, 120th NYVI, N-SSA, Union and Confederate Volunteers, and American Artillery
Association; and C.Peter Jorgenson, "Artilleryman" editor and publisher.
Adopted by American Artillery Association and National Muzzleloading Rifle Association.
Copies are available from The Artilleryman, RR1, Box 36, Tunbridge, VT 05077

Civil War Artillery Site
Mr. Ten Brink's Website is, without question, the most authoritative artillery site
available on the Internet, to our knowledge. The variety of subject matter covered
on this Website covers the length and breadth of artillery during the War Between the
States. His treatment of each subject is professional, polished, intelligent, and
intelligible to all. Illustrated amply with period drawings and good, clean
photographs, his Website is what every artillery Website wishes it could be.
