MARDI GRAS '99

Here's just a little taste of Mardi Gras, 1999. Pictures courtesy of my wonderful friends. You know who you are!!

Here's the wild and crazy bunch of gals that we'll call "The Gang".
(hint: I'm the fourth from the left on the back row)

At least one of us found a good place to perch to catch those priceless beads! (Tigers all the way!) In the middle is a float from the Mid-City parade at Lee Circle (you can see the statue of General Lee in the background). On the right is a very nice person we met from Massachusetts. (How do you pronounce that again, Mike? "Bahston"?)

On the left are two buddies spending their first Mardi Gras together (aw, how sweet!). In the middle is the ride from one parade to another (Sing it sister!). And, on the right is part of our "dancing in the street" moment.

Here's a picture of a float from the Bacchus parade in New Orleans.

Since we were in LaPlace on Valentine's Day, their parade centered around that theme. This was one of the prettier floats there.

On the left are a couple of us crazy gals. I have no idea what we were looking at in the picture on the right, but I'm the one with the beads on looking down.

Some of my friends were in the LaPlace parade. Here's the float they were in.
