Abel Westfall
My gr. gr. gr. gr. gr. grandfather was Abel John Westfall born about 1696 in Kingston, Ulster County, New York. He died in 1755 in Hampshire County, Virginia. He was the son of Johannes and Maritje (Kool) Westfall. He married 2-25-1717 Antjen "Anna" Bogaert (sometimes spelled Bogard or Bogart) in Minisink, Orange County, New York. She was the daughter of Cornelius and Eva (Hornbeck) Bogaert. They had 9 children-Cornelius Westfall, Elizabeth Westfall, Sara Westfall, Johannes Westfall, John Westfall, Catherine Westfall, Leah Westfall, Anna Westfall, and Lydia estfall.
(1) Abel and Antjen "Anna" (Bogaert) Westfall's son Cornelius Westfall (my gr. gr. gr. gr. grandfather) born in 1759 in New York. He married Elizabeth Westfall, the daughter of Jacob and Margrietje "Margaret" (De Duyster) Westfall. Cornelius and Elizabeth Westfall had 8 children-Cornelius Westfall Jr. (my great great great grandfather), Anna Westfall, Margaret Westfall, Jacob Westfall, John Westfall, Mary Caroline Westfall, Isaac Westfall, Zachariah Westfall.
(2) Abel and Antjen "Anna" (Bogaert) Westfall's daughter Elizabeth was born in 1733 in Minsink, New York.
(3) Abel and Antjen "Anna" (Bogaert) Westfall's daughter was Sarah (Zara) Westfall born in 1718 or 1719 Minisink, Orange County, New York. She married Cornelius Cole (Kool). They had a son John Cole.
(4) Abel and Antjen "Anna" (Bogaert) Westfall's son Johannes John Wesley Westfall was born in 1724 in Kingston, New York. He Died in 1789 in Virginia. He married Sarah Vannoy. Sarah was the widow of Jonathan Hornbeck. Her parents were Johannes and Janneker (Louw) Vannoy. Johannes and Sarah (Vannoy) Westfall had 6 children-Abel Westfall, Cornelius Westfall, John Westfall Jr., Abraham Westfall, Jacob Westfall, and Isaac Westfall. John Wesley Westfall's sons Abel and Cornelius served in the Revolutionary war. Cornelius was a Lieutenant in his brother Captain Abel Westfall's Company, the 8th Virginia Regiment, and was at Valley Forge in 1777 and 1778.

Indiana Westfall married George Whitmore.

He married 1st Elizabeth (Lambert) Springstone, and married 2nd Sarah (Rumsoner) Hale. Cornelius and Elizabeth (Lambert) Springstone Westfall had these 4 children-Sarah Westfall born 1789 married Aaron Thomas; Andrew Westfall born 1792, died 12-9-1839 Greene Co, IN, married Catherine Wood; Elizabeth Westfall born born Oct 29, 1796 Ohio died Mar 3, 1878, married Feb 8, 1817 in Knox Co, In to Phillip Miller, born March 6, 1786 in Maryland, died June 9, 1857 in Daviess Co, IN; and Jemima Westfall born 1798 married Anthony Lowe. Cornelius and his 2nd wife Sarah (Rumsoner) Hale had 2 children-Josephine Westfall Born Oct 24, 1803 Died: May 11, 1855 married 1829/1830 John Miller born Jan 10, 1808 Ohio Died: May 23, 1874 Daviess Co, IN; and Susannah Westfall born 1807.

Cornelius Westfall (l756-l828) was an Ensign and 2nd Lieutenant in his brother's, Captain Abel Westfall's Sixth Co. of the 8th Virginia Regimnet during the Revolutionary War. He also served at Valley Forge in l777-l778. His first wife was Anne Elizabeth Lambert Springstone (l754-l802), widow of Jacob Springstone. They were married in Harrison Co., Virginia on 4 April l787. Cornelius Westfall also settled in Ross Co., Ohio, along with his brother, Abel Westfall. From Ross Co., Ohio they went to Knox Co., Indiana where the rest of his brothers settled. His second wife was a widow, Sarah Runsoner Hale whom he married in Ross Co., Ohio on l2 January l804. On l8 May l8l8, Cornelius Westfall applied for a pension, S-36842 for his military service in the Revolutionary War. Although at the time of his settlement in Knox Co., Indiana, it later became Greene Co., Indiana where he died on 8 August l828. He his buried in the city cemetery in Bloomfield, Indiana next to his brother, Abel Westfall. A government stone marks his grave for his Revolutionary War service.

Jacob Westfall
Jacob Westfall (also my gr. gr. gr. gr. gr. grandfather by the marriage of his daughter Elizabeth to Cornelius Westfall Sr.). He was born in 1693 in Esopus, Ulster County, New York. He died in 1784. He was the son of Johannes and Maritje (Kool) Westfall. He married 12-21-1717 Margrietje "Margaret" De Duyster (sometimes spelled De Duchier or De Dutcher) in Minisink, Orange County, New York. She was the daughter of Cornelius and Eleanora (De Hooges) De Duyster. They had 8 children-Elizabeth Westfall, Maria Westfall, Eleanora Westfall, Cornelius Westfall, Sarah (Zara) Westfall, Joanna Westfall, Sophia Westfall, and Margaret Westfall.
(1) Jacob and Margrietje "Margarite" (De Duyster) Westfall's daughter Elizabeth Westfall (my gr. gr. gr. gr. grandmother) was born 1-16-1726 in Rochester, New York. She died about 1767. She married Cornelius Westfall, her cousin, (my gr. gr. gr. gr. grandfather), the son of Abel and Antjen "Anna" (Bogaert) Westfall.
(2) Jacob and Margrietje "Margarite" (De Duyster) Westfall's daughter Maria Westfall born 1-28-1718 married Thomas Schoonover. They had 8 children-Cornelius Schoonover born 1738 married Lena Devoir; Sarah Schoonover born 1743; Benjamin Schoonover born 1745 married Mary Hand; Jacob Schoonover born 1745 married Appolonia Price; Debora Schoonover born 1747 married Philip Swarthout; Weyntje Schoonover born 1748; David Schoonoverborn 1752; Joris Schoonover born 1759; and Josias Schoonover born 1762.
(3) Jacob and Margrietje "Margarite" (De Duyster) Westfall's son Cornelius Westfall was born in 1723. He died in 1760. He married Grietje Decker. They had 3 children-Dievertjes Westfall (wife's name unknown) had a son Cornelius Westfall born 1773; Jacob Westfall; and Maregrieet Westfall who married first Hezekiah Rosekrance, and married 2nd George Kimber, and they had a daughter Margaret Kimber.
(4) Jacob and Margrietje "Margarite" (De Duyster) Westfall's daughter Eleanora Westfall born 1721 married 1737 first David Cole (Kool) born 1712, died before 1760, the son of Willem and Catrynjen (Du Bois) Kool. David and Eleanora (Westfall) Cole had 9 children-Catrynje Cole born 1738 married first Martinus Kuykendall, and had a daughter Harmonous Kuykendall, and then married 2nd Daniel Rosenkranz; Josiah Cole born 1740 married Margaret Mullen; Margrietje Cole born 1742, died in infancy; Sara cole born 1743, died 1837, married Simon Westfall, the son of Simon and Jane (Westbrook) Westfall; Jacob Cole born 1746 married 1st Lydia Van Aken and 2nd Leah Kittle; Margrietje Cole born 1747 married Harmanus Van Inwegen; Benjamin Cole born 1747 married Sarah Kimber; Samuel cole born 1751 married first Janey Davis or Janey Davids, and married 2nd Anna Ryder; and Sophia Cole born 1753. After David Cole's death Eleanora married 2nd Cornelius Westfall Sr. after his first wife, Eleanora's sister Elizabeth's death.
(5) Jacob and Margrietje "Margarite" (De Duyster) Westfall's daughter Sarah (Zara) Westfall was born 10-6-1726 in Rochester, New York. She married Joris Kimber, and they had 5 children-Sarah Kimber born 1753 married Benjamin Cole; Margaret Kimber (1755-1846) married Henry Horton; Peter Kimber born 1759 married Elizabeth Clark; George Kimber born 1760; and Samuel Kimber (1762-1835) marred Mary Bennett.
(6) Jacob and Margrietje "Margarite" (De Duyster) Westfall's daughter Johanna Westfall was born in 1730. She died before 1775. She married Benjamin Van Fleet. They had a son Samuel Van Fleet born 1759 married wife who's last name was Clark.
