258. CAPTAIN DANIEL DAVISON was born in 1701 in Long Island. He died in 1770. Migrated from Long Island to Shenandoah Valley from Delaware abt 1738, settling in northeastern Rockingham County. Around 1745 he moved to the other side of the Valley, purchased 120 acres on the headwaters of Cook's Creek (now Dayton, VA). Marauding bands of Indians frequently roamed the area at this time and he built his house of stone and it is said he added a stockad e and an underground passage to the nearby spring. Loopholes for firing may have been set in the stone walls of the house giving rise to the present name He was married to PHOEBE HARRISON in 1744/45.

259. PHOEBE HARRISON was born in 1728 in Long Island, NY. She died in 1807 in Rockingham Co., VA. She was buried in Moore Fam. Cem., Rockingham Co., VA. Perserver of the old water bottle of her grandfather's, Isaiah Harrison, voyage to America on the Spotted Calf. Children were:
