Raliegh Gilbert was born to Samuel and Mary Ann Gilbert. He married Melvina Gordon the daughter of William Gordon and Mary Ann Wheeler. Raliegh Gilbert also known as Rollo had his life cut short when he was kicked in the stomach by a horse. His son Howard rode the same horse many miles from the New Boston area to Aledo to get the doctor who was out making a house call when Howard arrived.
