These homepages are my favorite resources for Italian genealogy.  The people who created these homepages have worked very hard to provide helpful genealogy tools and this dedication really shows in the results of their work.  I recommend you look at everything on the sites.  Following each website heading, I've tried to list the sub-pages  I think would be especially useful to you.

P.I.E.  Homepage       POINT is an organization that is separate from the PIE the mailing list group.  The PIE homepage space was generously provided by Tony Cimorelli, to archive the information accumulated by PIE mailing list members. The space is only one small part of Tony's personal website.

    GENFORUM   This is a great public genealogy FORUM website that can help you to find other people searching for your family surname.   They have FORUM boards for place names, too.
    Example:   a State like West Virginia or a town name like New York City, N.Y.

    P.I.E. FORUM  PIE Forum is a section of the PIE Homepage where you may ask any genealogy questions.

    *GENCONNECT  Genconnect is a part of the vast ROOTSWEB website. It is a very educational site and has genealogical QUERY boards of many kinds.   These boards are primarily divided by county, state and countries.   Especially good for locating old town names, cemeteries, maps and landmarks.   There are some town pages being built as well.

    NOTE:   See what other wonderful things are being done on the Genconnect and USGenconnect projects.   They have organized a nationwide projects for placing the US Census on-line; transcribing tombstones, old family bibles, some old vital records-special census records, special lists and more.

    SEARCHABLE PUBLIC "FAMILY TREE" DATABASES:
    LDS(Latter Day Saints-Mormons) On-Line Genealogy Database  Excellent resource for everyone in genealogy.   Search by surname, locality, and country. Many, many other helpful "tools" and useful information.

    RootsWeb  Huge database of contributed family information AND of individual member's family genealogy homepages.  This site has mind staggering amount of helpful resources.  Rootsweb has lists upon lists of addresses and URL's for genealogy mailing lists, historical societies, family reunions, maps and more.

    Family History.com  This site is part of the Ancestry.com organization.   CAUTION; only part of this very large website domain is free to search. The Family History.com pages are one of the free areas to search.

    LIBRARIES, MUSEUMS and HISTORICAL SOCIETIES: Don't forget the tremendous resources our country provides in the Library of Congress and the Smithsonian Institute for locating old books, rare records, recordings, maps and special collections and presentations.  See the Ellis Island presentation.  American Memory collection.   Many of these organizations are now on-line.

    Make use of your local and state libraries genealogy and history selections as well as the many local and state historical societies around the country and the world.
