Notes:
MORE WORRISOME FOR OUR AIRCREWS IS THE NORTH KOREAN AIR DEFENSE SYSTEM.
NORTH KOREA HAS ONE OF THE WORLDS DENIEST AIR DEFENSE NETWORKS IN THE WORLD. THEY POSSESS OVER 8,800 PIECES OF ANTI-AIRCRAFT GUNS, AS WELL AS THE SA-2, SA-3, AND SA-5 STRATEGIC SURFACE-TO-AIR MISSILE (SAM) SYSTEMS. THEY ALSO POSSESS THE SA-7 AND SA-16 HAND-HELD SURFACE-TO-AIR MISSILE SYSTEM.
MOST OF THESE SYSTEMS ARE CONCENTRATED AROUND THE CAPITAL AND ALONG THE DMZ. ONE OF THE BIG BENEFITS FOR SUCH A DENSE AIR DEFENSE NETWORK IS THE AMOUNT OF OVERLAPPING COVERAGE. IF YOU TAKE OUT ONE SYSTEM, ANOTHER SYSTEM IS STILL ABLE TO MAINTAIN COVERAGE OF THE AREA.
