Truckin Life

Please check back soon. I will add more as soon as I can.

How bout this '95 Pete !!! Is a far cry from the '74 Kenworth cabover we started out in.

We have been in the trucking business for over 15 years now. It can be a real struggle & rewarding at the same time. Big D started out hauling cattle & feed. If memory serves me right next was a dry box. Pay was tooooooo little & always late. Flatbeds were next, hauling anything & everything. He is now STRICTLY oversize & heavy haul. He has been leased to the same company for 10 years now & has watched alot of drivers come & go. He has made many friends over the years & seen more of these United States than I have. Raising 3 boys, running the house & keeping the books has left me little time to go with him. On the rare occasion that I have climbed into his "home away from home" I have been VERY impressed with his professionalism !! Alot of people do not understand that without our truckers this country would be in sad shape. I do believe that they are the lifeblood that keeps us going. They keep our grocery stores supplied, deliver the much needed medical supplies to our hospitals, not to mention the million other things that we depend on them for. Clothing, housing & automobiles just to name a few.

TAXPAYER'S LAMENT

Tax his cow, Tax his goat;
Tax his pants, Tax his coat;
Tax his crop, Tax his work;
Tax his ties, Tax his shirt;
Tax his chew, Tax his smoke (now ain't that the truth);
Teach him taxing is no joke.
Tax his tractor, Tax his mule;
Tell him, Taxing is the rule.
Tax his oil, Tax his gas (again ain't that the truth)
Tax his notes, Tax his cash (oh boy a pattern emerges);
Tax him good and let him know,
That after taxes, he has no dough.
If he hollers, Tax him more;
Tax him till he's good and sore.
Tax his coffin, Tax his grave,
Tax his sod in which he's laid.
Put these words upon his tomb,
"Taxes drove him to his doom."
After he's gone, we won't relax.
We'll still collect inheritance tax.
