Why do you write 30 second mini songs?

There are several reasons for this, but I'll mention only two: firstly, it's a challenge to fit a song in such a small time frame, and the whole process of doing it is a lot of fun in itself. Secondly, a great composer once said that the purpose of lyrics in a song is to make people pay attention to it for several minutes. Long instrumental music can be a bore and today people just don't want to "waste time" with it, except for some very cool techno stuff, I guess :).

Do you write "long" music too?

Yes, but that is not the scope of this web site.

Do you give away your music for free?

The music published for this web site is free for anyone to use on non-commercial projects. I just would like to be credited as composer with the inclusion of my e-mail and/or this URL along with it. If it's not on the web, Music by ClipWAVE is fine

What if someone wants to use your music commercially?

It is possible. I just would like to be credited as composer and also a small contribuition to keep my musical projects going. I'm introducing the concept of "buyout shareware music" on the internet. Yep, the web is huge, but I believe you won't find it anywhere else. If you do, please let me know!

"Buyout" music? What's that?

Every music Producer has a lot of cd's full of clips, ranging from a few seconds to several minutes, so he or she can use on projects. Most of those cd's contain what is called "buyout" music. That is, they buy the cd along with a blanket license, which grants the producer the rights to use the music without the need to pay anything for the composer, ever. That is very similar to what I'm offering here.

Why don't you make a cd, then?

Because I don't have to. The Producer can come to this site, hear the clip in RealAudio and, if he or she likes it, download the mp3 file. In a couple of seconds the music is ready to be used. In fact, this process is faster than searching on a pile of cd's for a clip.

What's mp3?

In case you still don't know ;), It's a kind of compressed music format which generates small files with little or no loss in quality. You have to download the software for playing mpeg files. They're mostly freeware programs. See the links on The Clips page.

What do really want with this site?

Well, if you came all the way down here, I'll let you in on this: there's a hidden message on my music which will permit me to control everybodys's minds and take over the World! Just kidding. If you though it was serious, then you must be Pinky! No! Well again, I'd like to have my music used on films! Maybe someday, you know...
