Disturbing Behavior

MGM

Disturbing Behavior sets up a promising scenario, but it goes nowhere with it. The film, basically a variation on the Stepford theme, has some decent ideas, but there is no substance. It's a horror movie without scares. The "suspense" can be broken down into two categories: lobotomized teens do bad things and bad people try to make regular teens into lobotomized teens. That's it. Throw in William Sadler as a goofy janitor, some cheesy special effects, and an almost pointless scene in a mental hospital and you've got a disaster in making. It's a shame because, like I said, there was a lot of room for opportunity here. It seemed like there was about fifteen minutes of missing footage that might better explain why certain things happened. A bad editing job, a lack of scares, and some lame Scream-wannabe dialogue equal a film that just doesn't deliver.
