Secured the funds necessary to finish this beast, via credit cards. It's kind of a drag but I'm fortunate to not have to have done this until this point.
Listened to the tape Sean sent me over the break. I really like his style. Fit most of the music on it, in fact, to the latest dub. We can't use that music due to copyright restrictions, but it will be a good guideline, a good starting point. I need to get him a dub quick as a bunny. At this point I have three weeks to work with before the final mix.
Went to Outpost today to figure out a schedule. We've penciled in 01/19 as a start date and 02/09 as an end date. This includes a half day of ADR and 2 days of foley. On 01/09 (next Friday) I am going to get together with them and spot what will hopefully be the final dub. This will allow us to fine tune the sound mix schedule. Before this session, then, I need to work with Karen and Zachary to finish the edit.
Walking into the sunshine today I could feel a great weight lifting off of my shoulders. Sure there's plenty to do, but it's all mapped out and the wheels are in motion. Come Valentine's Day everything should be on its way to the negative cutter.
I've been giving great thought to the next project, the screenplay, schedule, budget. I snippets of scenes. It's time to set up a web page, start filling it in. Who knows? Maybe someone will give me budget for it.
