Then you just need to get it on film.
Went to the SJ film fest this weekend. It was fun to go there and be part of that part of the process. They did an admirable job of scheduling it seems, and the films were viewed by a fairly large crowd, at least that evening.
The way to do the film fest thing, I guess, is to immerse oneself in it. Just like any weekend event, figure out what's good to see by word of mouth, the hotel thing, you know. We just walked in off the street and checked out one movie that appeared promising from the ad. I don't want to discredit anyone's blood and sweat, and the film did have a few very nice things going for it. But I felt the script, premise and edting were very weak. But who am I to say? Hey, I made a film, so I guess I have the right.
Gives one hope, though. If that pup can be shown to a generally positive audience response and good reviews, then something finer can do much better. I just have to make the chance for it to happen.
