Sunday, September 21, 1997 - New Deal

Well, From Out Of The Blue has gotten the Boo © seal of approval. And that will open doors... ;^)

Had to reschedule for Zachary and Karen. I'll use the time to watch the rough dub a few more times and start taking notes. A few of the transitions are a little rough. Sound will help immensely, but it's still good to start thinking about how I will to do it. Currently the two places where continuity could be an issue are the move to New Mexico, and the transition of Carol's Night Terror to Last Supper (the last two scenes.) Both places a relatively substantial amount of time lapses and the mood changes significantly. Both transitions will also involve New Mexico scenery. I think the transition to the last scene will be aided by the use of bird sounds. The hand held shots of the girls and Carol sleeping should work well with this. Or maybe I can use a church bell, possibly both. I'll have to play around with it. Meanwhile I should record the church bell. I already have the bird sounds.

Tomorrow night I should tabulate the wild track. I can do this by looking at the sound reports. The tracks that have already been transferred to Beta I should list as well, as a side note. Actually, what I need to do with regard to the Beta wildtrack is list them on the camera log, since they will be automatically transferred to computer when the video is transferred. But what about the takes that I wasn't planning to have transferred? Should I transfer them anyway if they have useable wild track or transfer it from DAT? I'll need to ask which is easiest.

I'm starting to lean toward the use of a siren for the Dream Sequence again. I'll have to try both.
