so anyway, for any of you who are from the boston area, i was at the middle east (a club in cambridge) this weekend to see a band.....during one of the opening band's sets, my boyfriend noticed tanya standing right behind us. maybe 20 minutes later, i caught up with her in the hall and said hello and told her that she was a huge inspiration for me to start singing (and later form the band) because i would always sing along to her cds, and my boyfriend encouraged me to go for a consultation at a voice studio. she said, "that is the coolest story!" and we talked a little about the voice studio i'm attending. then we talked about the december show at the orpheum, and i aksed her if she met the cure, and she said yes and that they were very nice (another of my favorites ). so right now she is writing songs, and she says she is definitely going to remain a solo artist. we talked about other things, but i don't want to bore you all with the details, especially with my first post to the list. i just have to say that i was so struck by how sweet she was - i didn't feel for one second like she wasn't interested in what i had to say. what a wonderful experience meeting her, and with beers in both of our hands, no less!!
