URGENT!! You must attend the Bathing Beauties gig tonight at Lilli's if you are anywhere in Somerville, MA, USA. Otherwise I will not like you anymore. Ohh, I'm just kidding. You probably won't like us and I will always love you. Please check my website (link at bottom) if you don't know who the BB's are. I am one, for example. Did you know that? Tonight is the last of three weekly gigs we did at Lilli's. Chris Toppin, however, will not be there in her regular role as singer, as she is lying on a Cape Cod Beach as we speak. The inside dope that you get from this newsletter, though, is the secret that Tanya Donelly--of Belly, The Throwing Muses, and Breeders--will be doing a one-time-only appearance as our woman singer tonight. I get to sing harmonies with my buddy and hero, Tanya. If you miss it, you will probably be the subject of much ridicule.

Hey, Just wanted to let you know the show was pretty damn good. Tanya sang 7 or 8 songs with the band. A bunch of covers & one that was introduced as one that Tanya had wrote & the band had been performing for the past several weeks. Dean was on drums. Got to talk to Tanya for a couple minutes before she went on. Said new stuff would be out this fall. Hmmm, where have I heard that before? Anyway, it was great to see her perform again, even if she didn't strap on the guitar. Got my autograph & she was nice enough to grab a photo with me as she was rushing out the door while the band was finishing up the set. Said she had to run because she had just talked to her mother & the baby was up crying.
