My 2 cents worth:
(I could have used simply one word
to describe my feelings: "WOW". But I shall not, and so here's my thoughts...)
Edward Norton. You know..the young actor with the innocent/blur face that caught everyones attention by stealing the whole show from Richard Gere in "Primal Fear". Well, this role got him an Oscar nomination, but I am say this guy DESERVES the damn Oscar!
His potrayal of the character of Derek Vinyard is nothing short of spectacular. Watch him transform from innocent young man who lost his father into a Neo Nazi (not to mention muscle bound) foul mouth and then into a saddened reform ex convict. Wow (again)
The movie is filmed with violence which is so graphical, yours truly had an uncomfortable time watching during certain parts of the movie. The movie is rather well edited with its numerous flashbacks mixing it up with its present time. Don't even blink when the movie is showing the black and white scenes as they are gems of the entire movie. It may seem to be a little draggy at times, but if you can endure to the ending, I gurantee you will not regret.
The unfortunate thing about this movie is that this IS whats really happening in countries like America and Germany today. If you still have no idea what I'm yakking, I'm talking about the problem of Racism. Take a minute after watching the show to think about the poor black fellow who got chained and dragged to his death in Texas, or a neighbouring country's nonsensical riots.
You may love this movie or hate it to death...but you will not go home unaffected.

$7.00 outta $7.00
