Sea of Confusion

Adrift on a sun-kissed sea,
Ever-afraid of the storm.
Closing my eyes in pain,
Eternally feeling forlorn.

Finding the strength to fight,
Needing the help to survive.
With the taste of salt on my lips,
Barely staying alive.

The fingers on my face,
Searching, wondering why?
Is it the sea I taste,
Or the bitter tear of an eye? A marriage of nightmare and life,
Confusion wherever I go.
Is it the sea which I fear,
Or a deeper, inner foe?
