Evanescence

Entering your lives
To bring Happiness
Momentarily...
For I am she-
The Queen of Evanescence...
Through the Laughter
And the tears,
I am there
As long as you need me-
Then I am gone.
Not meant to Remain
Part of your Lives-
Merely a vessel of
Self-Exploration-
A way to Blot out Pain-
Changing Fears to Smiles-
Pointing out the Path to
Love and Dreams-
Listening, Caring, Feeling,
As you walk through your
Troubles-
Once you Stand Alone,
I am no longer necessary...
And so you Forget,
And so I move on,
Never taking care of
My own fears,
Insecurities,
Needs-
For mine are secondary,
Unconquerable-
I instead Grasp the Infinite
And make it Possible for You.
Ignoring the Self
Until forced to
Face Reality-
Escaping into the
Pain of Others
In order to Forget...
But always I am reminded...
And so I move on...
Missing those left behind-
Hoping & Knowing I helped-
Somehow-
But staying Brings
Reminders Too Painful
For You and For me...
So like the wind
I glide on,
As a Rainbow in the Sky,
The Tune of a Songbird,
Or a Falling Star-
To be enjoyed for a time
In Soulful Beauty,
But not to be captured,
For that which is Distant
Is Lovelier,
The flaws hidden.
Up close,
Commonplace,
The Beauty Fades,
For I am Unpredictability
And caring,
meant to be Enjoyed,
not cherished-
Or like a cobweb,
I turn to Dust-
To Nothingness-
So please
Follow Your Instincts,
Let me Fly to
My World
Of no thought-
The Place I am
Free from Pain-
Capture the
Essence of my Soul
In your Memory,
Where Forever it
Shall be Beautiiful-
Remembered only
As you wish...
Eternally
Evanescent.
