Well apparently there are moose in Maine, but the best I could find whilst there was this rather splendid version. It even stood still long enough to let me take this shot. I suspect this may be the Greater Wooden Species - a very rare species, but not as rare as the furry type often seen in Postcards of Maine, which are just a tourist trick and not really seen. In fact you are more likely to see the Loch Ness Monster, or, more likely to see the Loch Ness Monster in Maine itself than you are of seeing Moose.
