Review from the February 28, 1996 show at The Great American Music Hall in San Francisco

Went to the 7YB show in San Fran last night...Tribe 8 opened along with some death metal band which i personally think sucked...way too many vocal effects and recorded chanting, arg arg arg... then some spoken word which was really cool (stood and watched that with elizabeth)...then tribe 8, it seems that i remember that tribe 8 was banned from the Great American Music Hall last year after they wouldn't let the hall censor them. Well, according to Leslie Mah (guitarist for tribe 8) that 7YB wanted to play this hall and wanted tribe 8 to play there with them so they pushed for the ban to be lifted. Anywayz, tribe 8 rocked the house. Then some dude (Note: it was Jello Biafra) in a cowboy outfit (yippee-Ki-Eh MutherF) for some more spoken word, he ranted and raved about how high-tech was killing america and the high tech companies were stealing our money and yip yip yip..... sorry but this guy annoyed me cuz he was clueless on to what he was saying like south africa had a peaceful change over in power, peaceful my butt, thousands of people were killed by the government before they gave up power. anyways enuf of that!!
7YB came on next....Selene dyed her hair jet black...very cool. they played a lot of the new stuff which sounds GREAT and i can't wait for the CD to be out on the 12th...saw the cover, cool cartoon pix of the band.

I was a little disappointed that didn't play Mad Dash for the Home Alive CD, that is a cool song.
Well, i yapped with Elizabeth for a while last night and she said that they were doing this show and another Home Alive record release show in NYC and then heading back home and starting the tour from there...they might be back around this area in April for some big show at Standford ( i think, and don't quote me on this, a rock for choice show), anywayz, i asked if L7 would be playing with them and she said no but they would probally be there, just not playing. It was cool to see 7YB play again and talk to Liz. the band looked and sounded real good.
